Sometimes I come up with a really delicious recipe right off the bat and I have to immediately write it down. This Green Banana Almond smoothie recipe is one of those. It’s just simply fantastic.
You may remember a couple months ago how I received a Nutribullet as a thank you for volunteering at the 2014 LA Marathon. I love it. I actually recently sold my Magic Bullet (which I was also obsessed with) and now only exclusively use my Nutribullet. It’s just that good. It does everything the Magic Bullet can do and then some.
I use my Nutribullet for making a lot of my morning green smoothies. When I made this Green Banana Almond Smoothie I knew it was an immediate winner. What is my secret ingredient? Almonds! The Nutribullet is strong enough to blend them right into a smoothie which is still so amazing to me. And now here is my recipe for this yummy green banana almond smoothie:
Here’s What You Will Need:
- 1/2 Coconut Milk (I use the kind from Trader Joe’s)
- 1 Banana
- Heaping Handful of Spinach
- 1 Scoop Protein Powder (I used one that is unflavored so it didn’t change the flavor of the smoothie. This is what I used.)
- 1 Handful Raw Almonds (only about 7-8)
- 1 tsp raw honey (optional)
- 3-4 Ice Cubes
Take all the ingredients and put in the Nutribullet (I used the large cup). Blend until smooth.
After I made my Green Banana Almond Smoothie, I poured it into a mason jar and enjoyed with a straw. It was gone in literally less than a minute. I am so excited to have discovered this new delicious green breakfast smoothie and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
What about you? Do you have a Nutribullet or Magic Bullet? Do you have any recipes for smoothies that you love and would recommend? Post in the comments and let me know!

YUM! Thanks for the recipe! I’ve had a magic bullet for years but the blender top is starting to wear down on the points where it interlocks with the base and I’m concerned it will eventually stop working. I use it for smoothies but would like something a little more powerful for things like making homemade mayo (bullet base gets too hot and I’m worried it’ll explode!) and my food processor is too large to make small batches of anything.
Maybe try the Nutribullet for your next one. I think it works really well!
Thanks for the recipe. I used the almond paste from my almond milk and added blueberries. Delicious. And it males me feel fit and awesome. 🙂
Yum, I’m glad you liked it Deb!
Why did I not see this 20 minutes ago before I made breakfast?! LoL. I never thought to add almonds to my smoothies. I add almond butter all the time. I guess it is basically the same thing!
