Gluten-Free and Paleo Meals from Terra’s Kitchen

By Lindsay Leave a Comment

You know I love a good delivery meal delivery service,. I’ve tried a fair amount of them now and enjoy the convenience of having a healthy food delivery service make things just a little bit easier for you.

Recently I was introduced to an organic food delivery service called Terra’s Kitchen. They are a meal-kit service focused on delivery technology to bring you healthy, prepped ingredients. Each meal is designed to be done in 30 minutes or less. This was a huge plus for me because sometimes I end up doing meal services and the food prep and cooking takes an hour or more. I’m sorry, but there’s nothing convenient about meals that take an hour or longer to prepare!

Our meals from Terra’s Kitchen arrived on our doorstep on was when our order of four dinners for two people arrived at our doorstep. I had received a $100 gift card to try out the service and that is what I purchased. When the meals arrived, they came in a vessel. I’m not kidding. It looked like a refrigerator that would be on an airplane. It was climate-controlled and everything. I was impressed. One of my biggest issues with delivery services is the waste of packaging. This vessel can be returned and reused up to 100 times.

The vessel seemed too good to be true. I thought the return process would be a headache. Nope. I just peeled off the label and the return label was already on the vessel. We set it outside and they came and picked it up the next day. Talk about speedy service.

We received the following meals from Terra’s kitchen:

  • Southwestern Steak and Sweet Potato Bowl

  • Crispy Salmon and Watermelon Salsa

  • Chicken, Sweet and Spicy Dressed Greens + Cheese Pom-Poms

  • Turkey Spinach Meatballs in Skinny Sunday Gravy

The ingredients all came individually wrapped in recyclable packaging. They came chopped up and packaged and ready to go which I really liked. Check it out:

All of the ingredients looked so fresh and tasty. The first meal I made was the turkey meatballs. I was very curious if this meal was going to take 30 minutes or less because it had me making my own tomato sauce from cherry tomatoes. That seemed daunting to me but it was actually really easy – all I had to do was put the cherry tomatoes in the blender. I put the turkey meatballs in a glass container and stored them for easy dinners during the week. Meal prep, baby!

The next meal I made was the Southwestern Steak and sweet potato bowl. This was my favorite. The sweet potatoes were already cut up into chunks and all I had to do was place them in the oven. The directions to cook the steak were really easy and I had a really nice medium-rare skirt steak. The bowl was served with avocado and I topped it with some black pepper. It was perfectly paleo, whole 30 approved, and delicious. I had to share this awesome food creation on Instagram:

Is this Instagram worthy? I think so.

The other meal I made was the chicken tenders with goat cheese pom poms. It was really good as well. The salmon with watermelon was also pretty good. Salmon is a regular on our dinner menu in our house but I’d never thought to make it with watermelon before.

Overall

Overall I was really pleased with Terra’s Kitchen. Here’s what I loved:

  • Packaging – the vessel was a really fun experience and I like how easy it was to peel off the return label and set it outside for next day pickup
  • Time – Every meal said it would be ready in anywhere between 20-30 minutes. Guess what? It was true!
  • Quality of Ingredients- The meats were high quality which I appreciated
  • Allergen Friendly – They mark their meals as paleo and gluten-free and several can be made to be whole 30 approved as well. I will definitely be using Terra’s Kitchen the next time I do whole 30

The only improvement I would make to Terra’s Kitchen is allow members to order a la carte. It’s a subscription service so you will automatically be shipped your meals unless you remember to skip them. You can also skip weeks on the calendar under Manager Deliveries.

If you are interested in trying out Terra’s Kitchen you can use the code AWESOME30 which is good for $30 off your first order. Enjoy!

What about you? Have you ever tried Terra’s Kitchen? Why or why not? Post in the comments and let me know.
