Amenzone Fitness & Rebel DVD Review

Amenzone Fitness DVD

Recently I checked out an awesome new workout at a place called Amenzone Fitness in Manhattan Beach. I learned about them from using a new mobile app called Burn This  that finds all the boutique fitness studios in your area and pulls them all together into one massive schedule. It’s pretty sweet.

What are YOU training for?

I took the Primal Fitness class that I had heard really good things about. I heard it was high intensity and had some crossfit elements to it but with bodyweight. I was totally surprised when the entire workout revolved around a tire. Yes, a tire! This tire became my new best friend during the hour long workout. I even had to carry the tire and run down the street with it? Did I feel goofy? Um, heck yes.

The Primal workout was fantastic and I felt really good from it. Then I learned that Amen, the founder of Amenzone Fitness, recently put out a two-part DVD series. Of course I had to check it out especially since I’ve been to an actual class.

The DVD is actually in a very similar format to the class itself. You start with stretching and then get right into the workout. The only thing that’s funny about it is there’s no tire! At least there was no extra tire floating around at my house that I decided to use. Everyone on the DVD class uses the tire but they also have a person that does the workout without the tire so you can follow along and see how she modifies accordingly.

Overall I thought the DVD was fun and high intensity and would be a great workout if you’re looking to do something at home for the day. But I have to admit that one of the most fun parts of this workout was playing around with the tire. Without it, the workout does not feel the same. Maybe I should invest in my own spare tire. Now THAT would be interesting!

What about you? Do you like working out at home? What is your favorite type of at home workout? Would you ever workout with a tire? Post in the comments and let me know!

Disclosure: I was sent the Amenzone Fitness DVDs for review. I thought it was perfect timing since I had just gone to their studio. The end.

    Looks fun!
Lately my favorite at home workout is The Bar Method.

Yes. I’ve only been to one class (in Georgia) and invested in the DVDs to be able to do at home on my schedule.

I’d LOVE to workout with a tire! I like doing bodyweight exercises at home mainly because I don’t have space for equipment. Otherwise I’d have a barbell and bumper plates.
