Review: Natural Calm Magnesium Calcium Supplement

Natural Calm Magnesium SupplementToday I’ve decided to review one of my favorite supplement: Natural Calm Magnesium Supplement by Natural Vitality. The supplement calls itself an anti-stress drink because one of the primary functions of magnesium is to help you relax and go to sleep. I love sleeping so anything that will help me sleep better get an A in my book.

I started taking this supplement back in January when I did my first whole 30. You have to build up to it and I initially started by putting a small amount into a mug and mixing with hot water. When you mix with hot water it actually becomes like a science experiment. It fizzes up and then does down and you mix it together.

I have created a ritual of having a spoonful of Natural Calm before bed. Natural Calm also has calcium in it, and the combination or magnesium and calcium is supposedly some magic equation to relieve stress in your body. Here’s what the Natural Calm website has to say about magnesium:

“Magnesium helps your muscles and nerves function properly; it keeps your heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system and also assists in keeping your bones strong. This essential mineral helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure and is required for producing and storing energy. It’s easy to see why many researchers say that no single dietary factor is as critical as magnesium.”

And here is what they have to say about calcium:

“Unless calcium and magnesium are properly balanced, magnesium becomes depleted (too much calcium can itself deplete magnesium levels). This can result in an inability to quickly recover from stress and can itself be a source of stress.”

When I take a spoonful of this stuff before bed, I sleep great. But then again, I don’t have trouble sleeping so who knows. I do know that this stuff does relax me at bedtime and I enjoy that.

I started off with the Raspberry Lemon flavor and then switched to the Original because of its lack of sugar. But the Raspberry Lemon flavor really doesn’t have that much sugar to begin with so I think either is fine. The benefits definitely outweigh that factor in my opinion.

Natural Calm costs around $24 for a 16 oz jar and it lasts awhile. It comes out to under a dollar per serving which is pretty reasonable once you break it down.

If you are undergoing a period of stress in your life or having trouble sleeping, relaxing, or calming down, I highly recommend Natural Calm as a supplement to try out.

Enjoy!

I have been taking this supplement for sometime now and I love it. How much sugar is in the raspberry lemon?
