Review: FCS Tie Down Surfboard Straps – Premium D Ring

FCS Tie Down StrapsI decided to review my [easyazon-link asin=”B004RPI8P8″ locale=”us”]FCS Tie Down Surfboard Straps[/easyazon-link] because they are so awesome and have really useful to me lately (and by lately, I mean yesterday). I bought these tie down surfboard straps about 3 months ago when I bought my stand up paddle board and needed to transport my new board on the roof of my car from San Diego to LA (roughly a 2 hour trip). I knew I needed something pretty sturdy to keep the board safely tied to my car for the trip and drive at high speeds on the freeway with no worries. The surf shop recommended these surfboard tie down straps by FCS. I strapped my stand up paddleboard onto my car with my current surf rack and the guy from the surf shop showed me how to use these tie down straps for extra support. My board did not move AT ALL during the entire car ride. Normally my board bag slaps against the car or shifts a bit while I drive with my current surf rack, but with these tie down straps nothing moves at all. Just yesterday I drove about 50 miles with a stand up paddle board and 2 longboards (3 boards total) on my car and these tie down straps worked like a charm. My husband was driving behind me and he said the boards did not move at all. He was impressed, and he was a bit skeptical about me using them at first to transport so many boards. These straps are made to even transport kayaks so you know they can handle bulky items with a lot of weight.

I wouldn’t put more than 3-4 boards using these straps, but wow. They are great and well worth the money. I’m so glad I found these because now I can attach surfboards and stand up paddle boards to the roof of my car with no worries. Cheers to that.

*Note from Lindsay: I am going to try and get back up to speed with August product review month as much as I can while camping this week. Things have been crazy with our new puppy and going on vacation but I promise to be more up to speed next week. Thanks for reading!
