If you follow my blog regularly or on social media, you will know that Kona is a huge part of our family life. We have to make sure we exercise her a lot or she’ll be completely nuts. Walks don’t even tire her out, she needs straight up running at the dog park to wear her out. She is very high energy and that’s actually quite okay with us because we understand she needs to be active to be happy. We’re the same way.
I’d describe our pet lifestyle as healthy and active. We try and get outside and exercise and live a healthy life and Kona is always in tow. We’ve taken her hiking, camping, and bodysurfing in the ocean with us. We recently went exploring in Palos Verdes and took her along with us. She loved it!

Now most of you know that I like to live a healthy and active lifestyle, but what you may not know is that I’m also a loyal breed owner. I have a bit of an obsession with golden retrievers. Whenever I see one, I squeal. I’m serious. I just love them. They make me so happy. Seeing one brightens my day. I’ve grown up with golden retrievers my whole life, an it was always a lifelong dream of mine (and bucket list item) to have a golden retriever of my own one day. I never could have a dog because I commuted to work and 12 hour long work days were not conducive to raising a puppy. When I first started my company, LTM Digital, I decided since I was working from home it was time to get a new office buddy – a golden retriever puppy!
Kona is one of the greatest office buddies. Even though she is high energy, she also knows how to relax. Most of the time while I work she just sits perched up on the couch and looks out the window. A couple weeks ago I was on a conference call and noticed Kona was being really quiet. When I got off the phone I saw Kona laying like this:

Now, don’t get me wrong. Kona definitely has her moments. She barks while I’m on the phone if she sees someone outside and she’s notorious for bringing something of Baby Awesome’s into her bed each night- whether it’s a shoe, toy, block, stuffed animal, or a bottle. She tears up napkins, toilet paper, and pacifiers like it’s nobody’s business. We embrace the crazy and we love her for it.

What about you? What type of pet owner are you? Post in the comments and let us know.
I think people forget how important it is to keep pups on healthy diets, too!
How could you not love that sweet face!?
