My #NutrishPetMoments with Kona

Kona Golden retriever

*Disclosure: As stated above, this is a sponsored post on behalf of Rachael Ray Nutrish. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own.

If you follow my blog regularly or on social media, you will know that Kona is a huge part of our family life. We have to make sure we exercise her a lot or she’ll be completely nuts. Walks don’t even tire her out, she needs straight up running at the dog park to wear her out. She is very high energy and that’s actually quite okay with us because we understand she needs to be active to be happy. We’re the same way.

I’d describe our pet lifestyle as healthy and active. We try and get outside and exercise and live a healthy life and Kona is always in tow. We’ve taken her hiking, camping, and bodysurfing in the ocean with us. We recently went exploring in Palos Verdes and took her along with us. She loved it!

Eating healthy is also very important to us and we’re the same way with what Kona eats. This is why I was drawn to Rachael Ray Nutrish. We are very big on feeding Kona ingredients that even a human can eat. Every Rachael Ray Nutrish food and treat recipe is made with simple ingredients like real meat and wholesome veggies. With all the unnatural ingredients that go into food these days and especially pet food, I find this to be incredibly important.

Now most of you know that I like to live a healthy and active lifestyle, but what you may not know is that I’m also a loyal breed owner. I have a bit of an obsession with golden retrievers. Whenever I see one, I squeal. I’m serious. I just love them. They make me so happy. Seeing one brightens my day. I’ve grown up with golden retrievers my whole life, an it was always a lifelong dream of mine (and bucket list item) to have a golden retriever of my own one day. I never could have a dog because I commuted to work and 12 hour long work days were not conducive to raising a puppy. When I first started my company, LTM Digital, I decided since I was working from home it was time to get a new office buddy – a golden retriever puppy!

Kona is one of the greatest office buddies. Even though she is high energy, she also knows how to relax. Most of the time while I work she just sits perched up on the couch and looks out the window. A couple weeks ago I was on a conference call and noticed Kona was being really quiet. When I got off the phone I saw Kona laying like this:

I just about lost my mind when I saw her like this. I mean, how did she even get herself into this position? How is it even comfortable? This dog is too much! Everyone told me this photo was hysterical so I had to share this and make a meme out of it on the Rachael Ray Nutrish “Fur Real Pet Moments” contest. I mean, this photo is pretty epic. It should win an award, right? 🙂 You can follow Rachael Ray Nutrish on social and see all the cute memes people have made here:

Now, don’t get me wrong. Kona definitely has her moments. She barks while I’m on the phone if she sees someone outside and she’s notorious for bringing something of Baby Awesome’s into her bed each night- whether it’s a shoe, toy, block, stuffed animal, or a bottle. She tears up napkins, toilet paper, and pacifiers like it’s nobody’s business.  We embrace the crazy and we love her for it.

For Rachael Ray food equals love and we love to feed Kona healthy, nutritious food that helps her live a healthy and active lifestyle just like we do. We embrace the crazy and we love being mom and dad to our fur baby, Kona!

I think people forget how important it is to keep pups on healthy diets, too!

How could you not love that sweet face!?
