Top Sustainable Products for Moms and Kiddos

By Lindsay Leave a Comment

Earth Day is April 22nd! In our house we try and be mindful of the environment and celebrate Earth Day everyday, but I know there are things we can be doing better and we are always trying to improve. There have been many sustainable products we’ve switched to using over the years to cut down on our use of plastic and harsh chemicals. I’ve also been more mindful about the clothing I wear and products we buy for the kids from their toys to their lunch boxes. Here are some of my favorite sustainable products for moms like myself, but honestly anyone can benefit from incorporating these awesome brands into their life.

Stasher Bags

We made the switch to Stasher Bags in our home a little over two years ago. At the time we were using Ziploc bags and I thought the transition would be hard. It has been such a great change for us. Stasher Bags are reusable food grade bags that come in several different sizes and color varieties. They are made of silicone and you can put them in the freezer and wash them in the dishwasher. We use them for everything – storing food, freezing fruit, the kid’s lunches, and packing for trips. This past week we went away to Mammoth and I packed my shampoo and conditioner in their large bag. I try and load up on new colors and bags for our kitchen quiver whenever Stasher has a sale. Right now their products are 25% off for Earth Day. Check them out on Amazon or on their website.

PlanetBox

I’ve tried a number of different eco-friendly kid’s lunchboxes for the girls over the years and this stainless steel lunchbox by PlanetBox has been my favorite so far. We love the PlanetBox Rover Lunchbox. It’s stainless steel and toxic free. It’s easy to clean, too. I can throw it in the dishwasher or wash by hand. I researched stainless steel kid’s lunchboxes for quite some time before we invested in these. The only drawback to it is the price. It’s a steep investment but they last. We’ve had ours for over a year now (bought during last year’s Earth Day sale) and have been really happy. You can get them on Amazon or on their website. They are on sale for 25% off for Earth Day.

Suavs

Sustainable fashion is totally in style and not going away any time soon. Suavs Shoes are sustainably made using safe materials and post-consumer recycled water bottles. They are flexible and lightweight while still being a supportive and comfortable shoe. Highly recommend for anyone who is on the go or chasing after little ones. They are great!

Project Sunscreen

project sunscreen

I love Project Sunscreen for many reasons. First, it was created by my dermatologist Dr. Ashley Magovern. It’s reef safe mineral sunscreen and it comes in a roll-on applicator. Everyone in my family uses this sunscreen – my husband and I use the “for all” one and the kiddos use the kids version. It makes putting on sunscreen a much easier process and the kids actually enjoy it. Gifts like this are good for both mom and kiddos and something the whole family can enjoy.

Branch Basics

I learned about Branch Basics on Instagram and I was #Influenced. Their non-toxic cleaning products are wonderful and I’m so glad we started using them this past year. Branch Basics has non-toxic cleaning products that work really well and they are made using high quality, plant-based ingredients. I use the All-Purpose cleaner for pretty much anything.

Ecolunchbox

We have a couple different items from Ecolunchbox in our house. The stainless steel plates are great both for camping and travel and for everyday use. We also love the tri bento box for packing snacks for the park that we don’t want to get smushed like berries and crackers.

There are several other items I would like to feature here so I may need to add to this list again soon. I hope you found it helpful. Enjoy!
