The end of the school year is an exciting and busy time. I had been collecting some items for the girls for the summertime and instead of giving to them as I got them, I decided to put them together as a last day of school gift basket for them to enjoy!
There’s always something so energetic with the last day of school. Kids running around in the neighborhood, the sun staying out a little longer every night, and parties and events galore. I wanted to give my girls a special gift on the last day of school that got them excited for the summertime. It included some fun gifts to enjoy as well as workbooks and fun educational toys and books to get them excited for the grade they are going into.
Toddler Purse
What better way to display a gift basket than using these adorable purses. There is a wide range of colors to choose from and they are great for the beach, too. They’re so great for travel and my girls love carrying around their knick knacks!
New School Year Books
My youngest daughter finished Preschool this year and is heading to kindergarten next year. We are so proud of her! I found this adorable book, The Queen of Kindergarten. She was thrilled to read it and I’m hoping it gives her courage for the transition to Kindergarten in the Fall.
My oldest is blasting off into 2nd grade! Time is flying and we had so much fun celebrating her last day of school on the beach with her school friends. I added Second Grade, Here I Come! to her basket and we love reading the poems together.
Card Games
Who remembers the Brain Quest decks?! My family would pack these for road trips and we had so much fun testing each others knowledge. I added the Brain Quest Kindergarten Deck and the Second Grade Workbook for their Last Day of School Basket. These are great for the summer time when you want to keep those tiny minds working. The deck features hundreds of questions to keep learning fun, engaging and entertaining!
Another great find, Skillmatics Card Games. You can either play one on one, or as a family. 10 questions is all you have to guess the animal on the card. Skillmatics has a wide range of themes such as Animal Planet, Countries of the World, and World of Sports!
Summer Gear
I added in a few summer clothing items that I wanted to refresh for my kiddos’ wardrobe and I knew they would love. These slide on sandals were a huge hit and the girls can slip them on for beach days and time at the pool. Another favorite in our house are these Ray of Sunshine Trucker Hats. They are made by a local South Bay brand and are just so adorable and fun for beach days! I love shopping their website and finding fun beach clothing and gear for the girls and myself.
Last Day of School Gifts
