This past weekend was so much fun because we made no plans and stayed in town. Marion and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on Thursday and planned to relax this weekend.
The Redondo Beach Lobster Festival happens every year in late September. It’s been around for twenty one years, and it’s always been one of those events we’ve wanted to check out but hadn’t been to yet. We were excited to have the chance to check it out this past weekend.
When you get to the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival there is a price for admission (Adult Admission is $20) and then you can buy food and drink tickets and lobster meals separately. We got there at around 4:30 and enjoyed hanging out watching the band The Babys and having some late afternoon cocktails. We ordered lobster tacos from the bistro and lobster mac and cheese for Baby Awesome aka Awesome Toddler. It was her first time trying lobster and she LOVED it!
After we ate our dinner and the band finished playing, we headed out to visit the sponsor booths. The Redondo Beach Lobster Festival is held at Seasside Lagoon which is a popular area for children. Of course Baby Awesome wanted to go into the water. We were able to distract her from the water for a bit. She was really interested in the face painting booth and got a balloon that was made into a flower. We also stopped by and visited with our friends from Frontier Communications. We’ve done several promotions and events with them in the South Bay such as the Manhattan Beach AVP Open and Fiesta Hermosa and we are Frontier Communications customers so it was good to see them again.
After visiting the booths Baby Awesome headed right into the water! She has no fear. It’s kind of scary because i wish she would be a little more cautious around the water. We were right there with her and took off her pants and let her splash around in the water in her diaper. She loved it and we ended up taking her home in her diaper and putting her straight in the bathtub. She had such a great time. I think I see a trip to Seaside Lagoon in our future.
I’ve been incredibly busy with work and life lately and this was the first weekend we’ve had in almost a month with no plans. It was so nice to head out to the Redondo Beach Lobster Festival on a Sunday afternoon and enjoy some quality family time and catch up with friends.
Yum! Now I want lobster. It was a bumping weekend in LA County. I was at the Long Beach Music Taste Good festival – sadly no lobster. I’ll have to check out the Redondo Beach lobster fest next year.
