This past week my husband, Baby Awesome, and I attended the Manhattan Beach AVP open on behalf of Frontier Communications. The last time I attended this event I was pregnant with Baby Awesome! It was fun to be back again.
We started our day with a healthy breakfast from SunLife Organics. This is one of my favorite healthy eating spots, and they just opened a new location in downtown Manhattan Beach in the old Nektar location. I was super excited to check it out.

After our healthy breakfast we walked down to the event. If you’ve never been to an AVP event before, you should check one out. There are sponsor booths, music, and the energy is infectious. We headed over to the Frontier Communications booth and grabbed our passes for the day. For those of you who don’t know, Frontier Communications is formerly known as Verzon FIOS. They even gave us a VIP pass for Baby Awesome which was so cute. Youngest VIP ever? I think so.
We headed up to the VIP area to watch the women’s and men’s semi-finals and the view was incredible! I couldn’t believe the view from the skybox. I have to admit that in between plays I kept daydreaming and staring off into the waves and watching the surfers.
In between the semifinals and the final matches we went and hung out for a bit in the Frontier SoCal booth. They were giving away $50 VISA Gift Cards and had a wheel you could spin to win prizes. My family has been a FIOS customer for several years now so I think it is great Frontier SoCal was out there to spread awareness and let everyone know that while FIOS has a new parent company, it’s still the same great service.
Baby Awesome also wandered into the merchandise tent and found herself a mini AVP volleyball. She wouldn’t put it down so I bought it for her. While we were in line, there were two other sets of parents with toddlers buying them the same ball. It made me laugh.
By far my favorite part of the day is when the finals began and the games went live on NBC. The crowd went nuts! We had such a fun time watching the game and watching our little girl eat her way through the VIP tent and dance to the music in between sets. She was having the time of her life!
I created a fun Snapchat story of our day that you can view here:
