Top Tips for Vitamin C Intake and Supporting your Immune System during Challenging Times

Studies suggest that taking Vitamin C with Zinc can help to reduce the severity and the duration of a cold. It can’t hurt to take them together, as Vitamin C has several other benefits. It is an antioxidant that can help with fighting off free radical stress. Most colds are caused by a type of virus called rhinovirus, which thrives and multiplies in the nasal passages and throat (upper respiratory system). Zinc may work by preventing the rhinovirus from multiplying. It may also stop the rhinovirus from lodging in the mucous membranes of the throat and nose.

I advise taking a supplement of zinc, as it isn’t always easy to get all of it from foods in our diet. Vitafusion gummy vitamins makes multivitamin for Men and Women that contains zinc. Also, frunuttta makes a sublingual Zinc + Vitamin C.

The link between immunity and sleep is strong. When people are sleep deprived their immune system is not able to function as well as it would if they had a good night’s rest. This is why it is important to make sure you are getting a good night’s sleep if you want to stay healthy. Sleep is restorative for the immune system and is essential for it to function properly. This is why it is important to get a good night’s sleep.

Here are some changes we can make to our overall wellness plan that might boost immunity:

  • Meditation- this can help you calm down and destress, which can improve immunity and reduce blood pressure.
  • Walking-walking outdoors is a great way to get exercise and can be calming, as well. Being in nature is restorative.
  • Eat more veggies- having a diet rich in vegetables will increase your overall health and help improve immune functioning.

We hope these tips are helpful right now during these challenging times.
