3 Ways Apple Cider Vinegar Changed My Life

By Jennifers Davison 2 Comments

Earlier this year,  my two-year-old got the flu. About a week after he got better,  he got the flu again.  Flu A, then  Flu B. Or B, then A. Whatever. The point is that my child has had the flu 3 times in his two years of life, but I, his loyal caretaker, did not get infected with those nasty germs. Why might you ask? Apple Cider Vinegar!

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is a fermented product made from crushed and aged apples. If you pick up a version with “the mother” you get the added benefit of a colony of beneficial bacteria.

ACV is naturally high in phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium, and others. Apple cider vinegar or ” the superfluid” has antibacterial and antifungal properties, and has been used for centuries as an inexpensive medicinal alternative.

Interesting stuff! But, not as interesting as the three little ways that Apple Cider Vinegar has made a BIG change in my life. Read on…

Apple Cider Vinegar Boosted My Immune System

I don’t care what anyone says: ACV kept me from the flu. I started downing my ACV Cocktail with hot tea, every hour for 24 hours. While I still felt fatigued, I did not get the fever, body aches, and general malaise that one might get when they get the flu. I kept up my ACV Cocktail all week and when my little got the flu again, I started drinking the Apple Cider Vinegar cocktail twice a day. Some benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar as related to Immunity:

  • ACV contains immunity-boosting antioxidants that can help you fight illness.
  • Provided you eat well and drink your water, Apple Cider Vinegar can help to regulate your pH levels which can help stave off colds and other illnesses.
  • ACV is high in is acetic acid, which can help your body absorb minerals.

Apple Cider Vinegar Helped My Tummy Troubles

Sometimes, OK, a lot of times, my “cheat day” turns into a “cheat weekend. Since I drastically changed my diet to lose weight in the first place, poor food choices don’t sit well on my stomach anymore. Cue upset stomach from indigestion. But luckily, authors Earl Mindell and Larry M. Johns who penned “Amazing Apple Cider Vinegar” advocate using the vinegar to alleviate an upset stomach caused by indigestion.  A nice warm or iced cup of my signature ACV Cocktail, right before bed, will have your stomach all better by morning. If you are lucky, you will have a deposit for the Porcelain Gods in the morning as well (Yes, I know, TMI).

Apple Cider Vinegar Helped Me Lose Weight

ACV, how I love thee! Turns out, the sour beverage suppresses appetites in a major way. You tend to consume fewer calories, which boosts your metabolism and lessens water retention. Fewer calories equal weight loss, people! Daily consumption of apple cider vinegar helped me achieve 15lbs of “fat be gone” (and it can help you too!). ACV is a miracle worker, but the miracle won’t happen overnight and you still have to eat a healthy diet and work out regularly for best results.

The Best Apple Cider Vinegar

Paul Bragg dedicated his life to improving the health and lives of individuals through education, example and beneficial products. He hit a home run with his Raw, Organic, Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar. I could bore you with more details, but I’m just going to cut to the chase and tell you to get some Bragg Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar With “The Mother”.

ACV Cocktail or Tea

8 -12 oz. water (cold for a cocktail or hot for a tea)
1-2 Tbsp. Bragg ACV
1 Tbsp. lemon juice or 1 wedge of lemon
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 pinch (or more if you like the spice) cayenne pepper ( this is optional)
Honey, raw maple syrup or stevia to taste (optional, but if ill, take the honey)

Stir well all the ingredients and drink right away.

How has ACV changed your life? Do you have an amazing recipe using ACV? I want to hear from you!!!

About Jennifer – I’m Jennifer over at Jen Jen Says. I started blogging in 2018 with the encouragement of my family and friends. You might call me a little scrunchy (a lil crunchy and a lil silky) when it comes to myself and my family. When I’m not blogging, I am teaching in the classroom and online, chasing after my two kiddos, grocery shopping for people, trying to maintain a semi-orderly household, and creating natural and organic bath and body products over on Etsy. Oh yea, I’m also a couple months shy of earning my Master’s. Cheers!

I’ve been struggling with painful knees due to arthritis. I’ve already had a hip replacement because of it. I started taking acv (in a capsule) and it wasn’t even 3 days before my knees started to respond. No more cracking sounds upon standing, more flexibility and a a lot less pain. This review sounds so typical but it’s all true with no exaggeration. I’m just amazed.
