Review: My Fit Foods Hermosa Beach

My Fit Foods Hermosa Beach is a new spot in the South Bay that offers healthy gluten-free meals on-the-go. I’ve been driving by this place for awhile now (it’s right off Sepulveda  / PCH) and I’ve wanted to check it out. The majority of their meals (about 90%) are gluten-free and all of them have a low glycemic index and list their caloric information.

While most of their meals are gluten-free, they are not paleo. I was only able to find a few meals that were pure paleo. This was okay for me since I wanted to try them and I was able to find meals that were mostly compliant to my current diet.

All the meals are in refrigerated cases. You walk in, grab your meal, pay, and go. Easy. Each meal comes in three sizes – small, medium, and large. The calories and nutritional information are listed on each meal. I wanted to have some healthy breakfast options that were easy so my husband and I got a couple breakfast meals and a couple lunch meals. The one breakfast meal I liked the best was turkey sausage patties and diced sweet potatoes. Yum. The staff at My Fit Foods was also very friendly too. They were more than happy to assist us in finding meals that would suit our needs. And after we purchased our meals, they walked our bag of food out to our car for us. We told them it wasn’t necessarily, but they insisted this was “The Texas way.” My Fit Foods has roots in Texas so that must be what they are talking about.

Here are some of the dishes I tried:

  • Almond Crusted Chicken
  • Mike’s Rise and Shine

Overall I think My Fit foods is a good option for someone who wants to eat healthy meals and is on the go a lot. Plus it helps with portion control and takes the guesswork out of portion control. I am sure many people who eat My Fit Foods meals regularly feel good and it can help with weight loss. They have a weight loss challenge for customers as well to support that. If they served paleo meals I would probably go there more but I still think its a great healthy, quick option for busy people in the South Bay who want to eat healthy and ate gluten-free. Enjoy!
