LARABARs In Your Diaper Bag

Ever since I became a mom, it’s been difficult for me to find the time to complete everyday tasks like showering, cooking, and cleaning. This may be TMI, but when I’m watching Baby Awesome on my own, it’s even hard for me to find the time to go to the bathroom.

Since everyday tasks have all of a sudden become monumentally difficult, I need to really make sure I keep healthy, clean snacks on hand. I’m breastfeeding, so I need more calories and Baby Awesome needs all the healthy nutrients. If you’ve been reading Fit & Awesome for a while, you will know that LARABARs are one of my favorite go-to snacks. They’re gluten-free, paleo, and made from all-natural WHOLE FOOD ingredients like dates, coconuts, cashews, almonds, apples, and walnuts. There’s no added sugar in them and no artificial ingredients. Just good, clean eating. They’re also Whole30 approved! You can have any type of LARABAR on Whole30, except for the ones with chocolate chips in them (those are not paleo).

I’ve included LARABARs in my top five paleo snacks, and, at this point, I’m pretty sure I’ve tried every single flavor they have. I love them, and they’re the only bar on the market made from whole foods that I consistently reach for time and time again. Here are my favorite flavors:

  • Coconut Cream Pie
  • Cashew Cookie
  • Peanut Butter Cookie
  • Apple Pie
  • Cherry Pie

When I recently went to the store to pick some up, they were out of the Coconut Cream Pie flavor! I was so sad, but picked up this variety:

There are even seasonal flavors like Gingerbread and Pumpkin Pie. I must try them out!

We usually buy them on Amazon or at Ralph’s because you can buy 10 for 10 dollars. I am very strategic about my LARABARs, and I always keep several on hand in a few different locations. For one, there’s always a box in our cupboard. You can also find a stash of LARABARs in my diaper bag, work backpack, and the side pocket of my car. I call it my “emergency stash” for when I’m in a situation where I’m starving and need food immediately. Trust me, as a new mom this happens way more often than I’d like.

It’s hard for me to find the time right now to make my own food, and in this season of gratitude I am very thankful to LARABAR for giving me a healthy, delicious snack that I can reach for regularly and feel good about what I’m eating. They rock!

At LARABAR®, we believe that the foundation of a sound mind, body, and spirit is derived from what you eat—and what you eat is most delicious and satisfying when it’s in a whole, natural state.

What about you? What is your favorite LARABAR flavor? Post in the comments and let us know!
