My 3 Day Juice Cleanse: Day 3 Recap
I finished my 3 day juice cleanse! Woo hoo! It felt like a long three days but I’m glad I did it and I feel like I’ve come out the other side with a much better control on my diet and health. I felt a little out of control with birthdays and celebrations over the past couple weeks and it felt good to get back on track.
Day 3 Recap:
My day started the same as the previous two days. I woke up, had some hot water with lemon in a coffee mug, showered and got ready. Then I drank my first juice, Dr. Green Thumb. I actually look forward to drinking green juice in the morning. It is such a great way to start the day!
I packed up my cooler for the day and I was off. I drank my second juice around 11am which was good timing. But then, things got out of control. I had a meeting at noon and ended up getting wrapped up in work until 3pm. I didn’t even have time to run to my cooler and grab my juice. I went almost 5 hours with no juice which was a big no no. By the time I had my third juice (Master Formula), I guzzled it down. But the good news is it actually satiated my hunger. I did end up getting hungry shortly again after and I drank my Almond Milk around 5pm. That helped a lot.
One thing I noticed was my nose was running like crazy yesterday. It was really weird because my sinus infection has cleared and I haven’t been having a runny nose lately. I have heard excess mucus is a detox symptom, so maybe it was that.
When I got home for the day, I was so tired but my headaches I’ve had for the past 2 days were gone. I laid down on the couch and took a mini nap before soccer. This is one thing I’ve noticed while on my 3 day juice cleanse. I get so tired at the end of the day that all I can do is lay down and rest or take a nap. It’s not like me, but I am allowing my body to have the quiet time it needs.
After I took my mini nap, my husband came home and we went to play soccer. He was hungry and wasn’t sure what to eat for dinner since I am cleansing. I had an extra beet juice (the one I didn’t drink on day 2) and I gave him that to tide him over until after the game. I drank my beet juice too and it was nice to have our juice together. I didn’t really have the energy to play soccer, but my team needed me. And good thing I showed because we ended up being short a girl even with me there! I told my team I didn’t have the energy to run too much so I played mostly in the back on defense. We lost 9-0 so none of us were too happy.
When soccer was over my husband asked if we could stop somewhere and get him dinner. We went to Whole Foods. Yes, I went to Whole Foods and grocery shopped while on a 3 day juice cleanse. I thought it was going to be pure torture but it wasn’t. I ended up getting a couple things for the house and some light foods to help break my fast on the post cleanse. I thought I would have a strong feeling of desire to eat or agony over not eating but I didn’t. I am proud of myself for staying so mentally strong.
We got home from soccer and grocery shopping and I busted open my Juice #7 – Hot Yam. It was so tasty and I savored it knowing that the next time I ate, the cleanse would be over! All I needed to do was go to sleep and it was done. I went to bed and chugged a liter of water. This cleanse is in the bag!
I will be posting an update on the post-cleanse so stay tuned!
