I recently created a gluten-free pumpkin protein shake recipe that I love. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year because pumpkins are everywhere and I can have pumpkin in everything – including my smoothies!
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it’s one that everyone in America celebrates. On Thanksgiving morning this year, we woke up and decided to make a pumpkin protein shake to start our day off on the right foot. It was my first time making a pumpkin protein shake and I was so impressed with how it turned out. Who needs sugary pie when you can have this? Here is the recipe.
Pumpkin Protein Shake Recipe:
- 1 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (I like Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein Powder because it’s very basic and simple)
- 1/2 Cup So Delicious Pumpkin Coconut Milk (I found this at Whole foods. If you don’t have it you can use regular coconut milk and a scoop of canned pumpkin)*
- 1/2 Banana
- Ice
- 1 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (I like Jay Robb Vanilla Whey Protein Powder because it’s very basic and simple)
- 1 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
- 1 Heaping Spoonful of Organic Canned Pumpkin (Note: This is different than pumpkin pie mix pumpkin. I added a link to the kind I use. You can get it at Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s
- A dash of pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, and vanilla extract
- Ice
Happy Thanksgiving to all! XOXO.

I make a pumpkin pie smoothie using vanilla whey, banana, 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1/4 cup canned pumpkin, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp vanilla, stevia and 1.5 cups ice (slightly different than the Fit2Fat2Fit guy’s recipe). Nutritious and tastes just like pumpkin pie.
Rob, that sounds really good! I will have to try adding the vanilla and pumpkin pie spice next time. I LOVE pumpkin pie!
WHUT!! “1/2 Cup So Delicious Pumpkin Coconut Milk “!!??! I have NOT seen this product. I will look for it next time I go to the market. There isn’t really a Whole Foods near me, I go to Sprouts, but this sounds worth going to WF for.
I think it is seasonal. It does have more calories and sugar but it was a good splurge. I think going with the Organic Canned Pumpkin and spices is the better way to go.
