Fall Tasting Menu at True Food Kitchen El Segundo

I feel better inside and out when I am eating well. It’s hard to always maintain that type of clean eating when you’re eating out at restaurants. There are some places where I can go and I know I can get a great meal that leaves me feeling good afterwards. One of those places is True Food Kitchen.

I’ve been a fan of True Food Kitchen for quite awhile now and I was so happy when they opened True Food Kitchen in El Segundo back in 2015 because it’s in the South Bay and right near us! Before that, the closest location to us was in Santa Monica. True Food Kitchen is a restaurant where all the dishes align with the principles of Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet. They are all about using seasonal produce and update their menu with the changing of the seasons. As part of this, I received a special invitation to join them for their Fall Tasting in El Segundo and sample some of the new dishes on their menu. Here is my Instagram Story from the event:

The best part about True Food Kitchen is that they can accommodate any diet. Gluten-free? Vegetarian? Dairy-free? Vegan? No problem. They’ve got you covered. I was so impressed how when I immediately sat down at the tasting, they already knew I was gluten-free and had prepared special menu options for me. Amazing!

One of my favorite items on the tasting menu was the Seasonal Salad. It was made with brussel sprouts, butternut squash, cauliflower, toasted mulberries, and a horseradish dressing. The horseradish dressing added a nice kick. The chef told us that when you prepare a salad, you should always line the bowl with the dressing and mix it all together instead of pouring the dressing directly on top of the salad. This was a fun tip I plan on trying when I make my next salad.

How good does this look?

Another favorite item was the dessert – Squash pie! It may look like pumpkin pie, but it’s not! It was gluten-free and made with a special graham crust and coconut whipped cream. I am pretty sure I need to order this now for Thanksgiving. It was so good! I ate half and brought the rest home for my husband and he was very happy!

The Fall Tasting menu will be available through the end of the year. Be sure to check it out!
