Easy Instant Pot Shredded Chicken Recipe

I really enjoy cooking and I’ve cooking our family meals over the past month. It’s been fun pulling out all the stops and using our many kitchen tools over this past month – our Air Fryer, Instant Pot, KitchenAid Mixer, and our blender.
One of my favorite easy go-to recipes right now is Instant Pot Shredded Chicken. It tastes so good, and it’s super simple to make. All you need is chicken and a jar of sauce. You can use any sauce you want. I’ve made it with salsa, buffalo wing sauce, and my personal favorite, Tessemae’s Lemon Garlic Dressing.
Here’s what you will need:
- 1-2 Pounds Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast
- One bottle or jar of sauce (salsa, dressing, sauce, etc)
That’s it. Just two simple ingredients.
I use my instant pot for this recipe but you can easily use a slow cooker or Crockpot. First, wash the chicken. Spray your instant pot with oil to prevent sticking. I use this Avocado Oil spray by Primal Kitchen.
Next, put your chicken in the instant pot. Dump the entire jar or bottle of dressing (16oz) on top. Set instant pot to poultry setting. I do 18 minutes for 2 pounds of chicken.
Let release naturally for 5-10 minutes.
Once the chicken is ready, take out and put on cutting board and shred with two forks. There will be excess liquid. I put the shredded chicken in a glass container and pour the liquid over it.
This chicken is so good and can be used in a number of different ways – salads, tacos, sandwiches, or on its own. It’s also great over rice, cauliflower rice, etc. I love the easy and versatility of this easy instant pot shredded chicken recipe.
I hope you enjoy this delicious and simple recipe as much as I do!
