Ways to Relieve Stress and Get a Hold of Your Life

Stress is the one thing common to everyone. Unfortunately, stress is the root cause of many issues in one’s life ranging from health, to finance and up to relationships. That is why taking a break from everyday routines is a common realization that is advised by both experts and peers alike.

Your Choices

There are many choices on how to relieve stress. You can choose to have regular solo walks, take an out-of-town or out-of-country trip, or even quitting your job and starting all over. You can even take some time off your daily routine and write down all that causes you stress. You might just be surprised with what you have recently accomplished or what you can already do but have overlooked. You may already have enough income to invest on more financially secure ventures like what trusted service providers like
aviva offers. You might also be able to take that tour you’ve been staring at everyday over at TripAdvisor or some other travel site. Either way, sitting down for a day to just think things through may just clear up your thoughts and help you prioritize what needs to be done. Again, it’s all about choices. Whatever hinders you from doing those choices might just be an excuse most of the time.

Walk and Talk
Do simple steps first if you need to. In Jane Porter’s “7 Simple Ways to Relieve Stress Now”, a walk with a friend once a week, venting out what stresses you can be a good simple way to relieve stress. Simple exercises can also do wonders. Remember that gym tip of counting your breath? Porter states, “Counting the length of your inhale and exhale and gradually lengthening how long you take to exhale will help counter this stress response.” You can also vent out by singing, and laughing out loud. Creating rituals or keeping past vacation photos in handy will help you reminisce on happy thoughts and you can think of those for a few minutes to have the feeling of calm.

In reality things are more complex, but have this in mind according to Nancy Larson of TheStarpress.com: “We create the majority of our upsets, indicating that because we cause most of our own stress, we can do something about it. This gives us a measure of choice and control that we do not always have when outside forces act on us.”
