Awesome Fridays: Good Friday Edition

Happy Awesome Friday, everyone! The day we’ve waited for all week is finally here. This week is also GOOD Friday which means I have the day off. Woo hoo! I always look forward springtime and this time of year because the weather begins to get warmer and I get to see my family at our big family trip to Palm Desert. Unfortunately this year we are not going to Palm Desert but we will still get to celebrate with our families here at home. Big shout out to all my cousins who are part of our annual Cousinpalooza trip to Palm Desert. When you see the picture below, you will know why we call it Cousinpalooza…there are so many of us!

This week has been incredibly busy. Long work days and too much time at my desk instead of working out. I am feeling lethargic as a result and looking forward to getting some good rest time and working out time in today on my GOOD Awesome Friday.

Here are some awesome things I am loving this week:

House of Cards

This is a Netflix Original Series that’s only available for streaming online. My husband and I have been hearing great things about it and decided to start watching it this past week. Normally when we watch TV shows like this we devour them, but House of Cards leaves us satisfied with just 2-3 episodes a night. It’s good because we sometimes stay up late watching 6-7 episodes of a show in a row if we are really into it!

Lacie Rugged External Hard Drive

I am a digital dork at heart and one thing I’ve always envied is the Rugged external hard drives. Now that I’ve had not one, not two, but THREE incidents where I’ve lost data on external hard drives due to dropping them or not being delicate enough with them I’ve decided it’s time to invest in one of these Bad Boys. I got it yesterday and will be using it as a backup drive for my Macbook Pro. If you own a mac, remember to back your stuff up people! It’s really easy using Time Machine. Trust me on this one, it’s worth it. And this hard drive is shock resistant for up to 5m. Finally, a hard drive that can withstand everything I put it through. AWESOME.

Chocovivo

My husband and I discovered this chocolate at a local farmer’s market last year. And this week I was very excited when I saw that GROW, a local market here in Manhattan Beach, was carrying this yummy chocolate! I got two bars – Almond & Sea Salt and the Mayan Tradition. Both are pure chocolate and stone ground from bean to bar meaning it is minimally processed and doesn’t contain any added ingredients. It is pretty pricey at $5-6 per bar, but it is a true treat. No it is not whole30 compliant, but if you are going to eat chocolate after whole30 (which I full endorse every now and again!), this is about as good as it gets!. Jade Yoga Mat

My co-worker told me about this awesome yoga mat by Jade Yoga. It’s made with natural rubber, no PVC, and very slip resistance. She brought it into the office and I got a chance to try it out (yes, I busted out some yoga moves at work!). It was so awesome! I totally have yoga mat envy now!

Love that bag and shoes, but also the cute Easter cake wrapped in Kit Kats and topped with jelly beans! This cake inspired me to make a gluten-free version this Sunday for Easter. I am excited to try it out. I will let you all know how it goes!
