New Year New Gear

In January 2013 I participated in a fun exchange with online fitness friends called New Year New Gear. It was started by Nicole from ApplesandArteries.com as a way for people to share their fitness goals with others and get some new gear in the process. All you had to do was email Nicole and she would pair you with someone. Then you emailed the people, shared your goals with them, and then they would send you new fitness gear for around $15 and you agree to do the same for them. You can read more about it here.

When I saw this event up on Nicole’s site I thought it looked really cool and I wanted to participate. But it was a day or two past the deadline. Doh. I emailed Nicole and she was super awesome and said she would have partner with two people and her and I could exchange gear. So nice of her!

I told Nicole that one thing I could really use is a headband. I always see those cute ones people wear with the thin straps and that is something I don’t have but would be great for running and playing soccer. Especially during soccer because when it’s windy my hair goes every which way even though I have it in a ponytail. Nicole sent me these cute headbands from Sweatybands.com:

They both are super cute and definitely fun and unique. I didn’t know anything like this existed – I always thought headbands were plain colors and boring! The Sweatybands site boasts about how these bands stay in place and don’t move around and they are right. I wore it during a home workout and it stayed in place great. Plus they are fun and funky and add that extra pep to my workout! Thank you, Nicole, for introducing me to a sweet, new product.
