United Healthcare We Dare You To Share

Spice Up Your Meal!

**Disclosure: This is a post written by me on behalf of United HealthCare. All thoughts and opinions, as always, are my own.

Holy cow, it’s November already. I feel like just two weeks ago I was complaining about how hot it was and now we’re in sweater weather. Where has the time gone? And now it is time for this month’s “We Dare You to Share” photo upload challenge. This is a website created by Source 4Women and United Healthcare that provides healthy living information on things like nutrition exercise, health screenings and more for women. Every month they do a photo contest to encourage you to live a healthy and active lifestyle. This month’s challenge is to share a photo of how you spice up your meal.

This month’s We Dare You challenge was a fun one for me because I love my spice cabinet. They say variety is the spice to life. Well, I think spices lead to variety in life! I love experimenting with different spice combinations and mixtures when I am cooking.

Recently I posted a recipe for my paleo chicken fingers. I’ve made this recipe several times with many different spice combinations and finally found one that I felt was strong enough to post. I mixed together curry powder, paprika, yellow mustard, and turmeric into the almond flour mixture for the chicken. It is so good! Here’s the picture I uploaded to this month’s photo gallery:

There were some pretty fun pictures in this month’s gallery. Here are some of my favorites:

  • Avocado and Kale Salad
  • Brown Rice with Chorizo
  • Lean Greens
  • Chili
  • Spice Stash

The Giveaway – Win a Le Creuset Baking Dish!

Le Creuset Baking Dish

This month we’ve decided to give away a Le Creuset Baking Dish as part of this month’s giveaway? Why? Because the grand prize on the We Dare You website is a Le Creuset French Oven and the folks at United Healthcare and I think this baking dish would complement it perfectly! Gosh, this pan is so nice I kind of want it now for myself. So perfect for the upcoming holidays!

Here’s How to Enter:

1) Go to http://www.wedareyoutoshare.com/share

2) Click on “Enter”

3) This will launch a popup that allows you to upload your photo. Make sure to use the promo code “FitandAwesome” when uploading.

**Note: you must enter this promo code to be eligible to win the Le Creuset baking dish so don’t forget!**

You can enter multiple times per day so be sure to get on it. Good luck!

I love cooking with cumin! It gives such a rich, smoky flavor.

I am a great appreciator of thyme of which the leaves crumbled and the powder are almost like two different spices. I grow the plants so my leaves are very pungent but I always have a store-bought tin of the powder which is the only thing to use in red bean n’ rice.

I love baking with cinnamon and cooking with garlic. They both have such noticeable and great aromas.
