I’ve always been a fan of Champion performance active wear so I was thrilled when I recently was sent a couple pieces from their new Spring 2015 line to try out. Their motto for this new line is “All Gain No Pain” which is reflected in the design of their clothing from their vapor fast drying technology, light fabric, and seams that are designed to be chafe resistant.
New workout clothes are much needed in my life right now for a couple reasons. One is due to size. I would love to sit here and tell you how I went right back into my pre-pregnancy workout pants after having Baby Awesome but that’s just not the case. I just spent 9 months creating a human, so I shouldn’t expect to bounce right back into my old fitness ways – and especially my old pants. I received a pair of capri pants, sports bra, v-neck shirt, and windbreaker jacket from the new line. Upon first glance the v-neck shirt and the windbreaker jacket were some of my favorites. I have always loved lightweight jackets but never owned one in a fun print. Now I have one!
The second reason workout clothes are much needed in my life is motivation. I know I talk about this a lot on Fit & Awesome, but it’s amazing how much a new workout outfit can motivate you. For me, the biggest hurdle lately has been finding time to get to the gym. It takes so much planning now to get to the gym, but when I have new workout clothes to wear I want to make the extra effort to get there. Having comfortable workout gear that fits nicely inspires me to push harder.
Yesterday I took my first spinning class since having Baby Awesome. About 30 minutes into the class I wanted to call it quits. I was tired and my legs hurt. I get really down about my lack of fitness shape these days and I wanted to go home and just get on with my day. But I didn’t. I kept pushing through and I stayed until the end of the class. I was a bit upset at my lack of fitness but I was proud that I stuck with it and kept pushing myself. My spin instructor said that’s when real change happens and I know hard moments like those are where real Champions are made.
Being a new mom is hard work. I am struggling to balance my new role as a mom along with the demands of my business and getting back into shape. I want to be able to get back to my pre-pregnancy shape and it helps to have great brands like Champion support and motivate me along the way.
