One of the many reasons I love living in Southern California is being close to the ocean AND the mountains. Just south of us we have the lovely hills of Palos Verdes and to the north we have the Santa Monica mountains. And we can’t forget Mammoth in the Sierra Nevada mountain range that is like a second home to us in the winter.

This doesn’t look like SoCal, does it? That’s because it’s not!
My husband and I just returned from a one week trip to Kauai. It reminded me of a much greener version of our SoCal home because you have these beautiful, lush green mountains nestled against a beautiful ocean backdrop. If you’ve seen Jurassic Park, you know what I’m talking about! Whenever we go out exploring, we always make sure we have plenty of water and snacks on hand. One of my favorite snacks on the go is LÄRABAR. As many of you who have been reading my blog for awhile now, you know they are my favorite – especially the coconut cream pie! They are gluten-free, dairy free, non-gmo, vegan, and soy free. They are also Whole30 and Paleo compliant because they are made from all natural ingredients.
I usually eat the Coconut Cream pie or Peanut Butter cookie flavors. When I’m feeling like a sweet kick, I’ll have the peanut butter chocolate chip or coconut chocolate chip flavors. These flavors are not Whole 30 compliant, so don’t do binge on them!
The kind folks at LÄRABAR sent me this awesome bag of goodies to try out. There was a box full of sample flavors including some I’ve never tried before like Carrot Cake and Banana Bread. I’m looking forward to checking those out.
LÄRABAR has also introduced a new grain free granola to their product line. The LÄRABAR grain free granola is called RENOLA. It is gluten free and made with all sorts of nuts and seeds like almonds, cashews, and sunflower seeds.
The RENOLA grain free granola is a great snack to eat on its own, or enjoy with some almond or coconut milk or greek yogurt. I like the Cocoa Coconut flavor mixed with Greek Yogurt. Yum. A perfect way to fuel up for a hike or even as a post workout snack.
I love how LÄRABAR inspires its customers to eat clean on the go and get active and be outdoors. It turns out that Larabars aren’t just convenient snacks for a hike – they were made for them! LÄRABAR founder Lara Merriken was on a hike in Colorado when she came up with the idea to combine wholesome ingredients like nuts and fruits into a food product that is healthy and convenient. Now it all makes sense!
