I’m Officially Full-Term!
It’s been awhile since I announced my pregnancy here on Fit & Awesome and I decided now is a good time to write another update. I have now passed the 37 week mark which means I am full-term. Yay! This means that even though my due date is not for another couple weeks, if labor were to start now the doctors would not stop it from progressing. So we’ll see what happens!
Last week at my doctor’s appointment they estimated that the baby weighs 6 lbs 10 oz right now. No wonder my walk has turned into a waddle and my stomach is so big I can’t squeeze through tight corners or spaces any more!
So here’s a couple questions I have been getting lately:
How are you feeling? I have been really lucky and felt good throughout the entire pregnancy. But I am beginning to notice that I am slowing down. Like today. I woke up feeling like a ton of bricks hit me. I took a couple work calls and then went back to bed. I ended up sleeping for 3 hours. Then I walked Kona, took a bath, and went BACK to bed. I took a warm bath to help relax me which helped but overall I am just generally uncomfortable and very sore and achey. I wonder if this is a sign that labor is coming.
Have you been sleeping? Yes and no. I’ve been having bad pregnancy insomnia just because I have to wake up several times in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and sleeping in general is not comfortable. Thank goodness for the Snoogle though, I don’t know what I would have done without that thing! I am trying to sleep as much as I can because I know I will be sleep deprived with a newborn, but often times I can’t sleep and just try to be productive instead. Kind of crazy, I know.
Are you excited? Heck yes I’m excited. My husband and I can’t wait to meet our baby! We worked on the nursery over Thanksgiving weekend and I have done several loads of laundry to wash clothes. We can’t wait to meet this awesome new addition to our family.
What is your birth plan? This is something that a lot of people ask me and everyone has a different opinion on. I would like to do an all natural birth. However, I know things happen that are beyond my control and my first priority is delivering a healthy baby. So if I am in too much pain and I need an epidural, I will get one. I plan to go into my labor with an open mind and my doctor is fully supportive of my choice. I plan to do a lot of yoga poses and ujjayi breathing during the first phase of labor!
Have you been working out? I wish I could say that I am entering this final phase of pregnancy feeling Fit and Awesome. But it’s been very hard to work out. The only workouts I’ve been doing are walking and swimming. I am going to try and get into the pool a couple times a week during these last few weeks because water relaxes me so much.
What if your baby is born on Christmas? Then she’s born on Christmas. Not much we’d be able to do about it at this point!
So that’s where I am at with everything at the moment. I have some content lined up for the blog for the next several weeks including another fun giveaway at the end of the week. A couple of awesome people have offered to guest post for me while I’m out with the baby. If you are interested in guest posting on Fit & Awesome while I am away tending to baby, let me know!
Over and out,
Lindsay
What about you? If you’ve been pregnant before, how did you feel at 37 weeks? Is what I’m feeling normal? Post in the comments and let me know!
Awww you look so cute! I swear I got tired from walking around but even on the day of my scheduled c-section, I was out running errands beforehand. You are going to do great! 🙂
That is so great! I have noticed I’m getting tired a lot easier but I am still hoping to be running around up until the day of. My new mott is live every day like you’re going into labor tomorrow 🙂
I am so impressed you are doing a natural birth! I was doubled over and CRYING during contractions, so knew right away the epidural was for me! My Mom had to ask the nurses twice to ADMINISTER THE SHOT! But maybe it was because I had that knee injury and my body was overall weakened? When it’s all over we shall converse on how it went and high five. I’ve had other gf’s do natural.. so amazed by you strong women! LOVE YOU! So excited to meet your little Girl!!
Hehe, I am going to *try* for a natural birth. I am not sure how it’s going to go though. If the pain is too great I will get the epidural and I won’t be upset about it. Open mind is key! Can’t wait for our babies to play together 🙂
So excited for you two… three… four (including Kona)!
Thanks, Madeline!!!
Can’t comment on what it’s like to be knocked up but I sure do like that Kona cuddle photo. 😉
Also, I kind of want a Snoogle.
Kona and Snoogle. Pretty much the best things ever.
