Mom 2.0 Summit is here! This week I’ll be packing up my bags and heading down to Orange County for my first ever Mom 2.0 Summit. I’ve heard about this conference quite a bit before and how it is one of the best events around for women in media. I’ve always wanted to go, but I never felt like I really should attend before because I wasn’t a mom. Now the event is not ONLY for moms but I just felt that way due to its title. Last year Baby Awesome was only four months old at the time of this conference and there was no way I was going to travel without her. I knew this year was going to be a great opportunity for me to go to Mom 2.0 Summit so I bought my ticket last year after the 2015 event ended. My goal is to really dive in head first into this community. So here I go!
I’ve never really considered myself to be a mom blogger. I started Fit & Awesome as a healthy lifestyle website but it has grown into so much more. It has always bugged me when people say “mommy blogger” because it sounds so condescending. However, I am a mom now and I do blog and work in marketing and social media so technically that does categorize me as a mom blogger. My life has evolved over the years since I’ve started Fit & Awesome and the good news is my site has evolved with me and my ever growing life changes and interests. Now the time has come to attend the Mom 2.0 Summit. I feel like it is a rite of passage in some ways and I’m excited about it. Here’s what I’m hoping to get out of my first Mom 2.0 Summit experience:
- Connect with like-minded professionals, influencers, and brands
- Learn new emerging technologies and tactics and techniques I can start using for my blog and my business right away
- Fuel my creativity and passion and walk away with new ideas on how I can improve Fit & Awesome and continue to make it an amazing destination for healthy living, fitness, and local LA tips and information
I know a couple of folks who are going to Mom 2.0 Summit but for the most part it will be a whole new world for me. I’m looking forward to connecting with brands like Marathon Kids, National Geographic, and Today Show Parenting. Most of all I’m excited to just come together as a community with all of these amazing influencers, brands, and content creators and really see what great things come out of it. It doesn’t hurt that we will get to stare at this view for the next several days either:
