Happy Awesome Friday, everyone! Wow, what a whirlwind of a week. I’ve been busy with lots of exciting stuff. One cool thing I am doing today and tomorrow is attending the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim. I am honored to have been selected as one of the 12 featured bloggers for the show. I will be live tweeting from the event and meeting with all sorts of gluten free and natural foods companies and can’t wait to give you all the lowdown. In short…it’s going to be AWESOME!
This week I learned about something very interesting called Oil Pulling. It’s basically where you swish coconut oil around in your mouth for 20 minutes. The oil is supposed to draw out toxins from your mouth when it binds to your saliva. I did it this morning and it was… interesting. I’m going to plan on doing it for several more days in a row and see how it goes. Coincidentally, I went to the dentist today and asked them about it. They said they didn’t know much about it either but had heard good things and asked me to report back on my findings. Here’s the article where I learned about it: WTF is Oil Pulling.
Sunday is the LA Marathon. I did my first marathon two years ago in 2012 and it was LA Marathon. I was so grateful for all the volunteers who woke up at the crack of ass (seriously) to go out and support all of us runners. When my friend Heather from Unusual Trekker asked if I wanted to volunteer at the LA Marathon with her, I was all over it. If you are running, let me know what time you anticipate finishing in. I’d love to cheer you on. I’ve always heard that the finish line of a marathon is humanity at its best and I’m excited to be inspired by that moment this weekend.
Okay, that’s all I’ve got for you for now. Have a great weekend. Be fit. Be awesome. And if you’re going to Expo West or LA Marathon say hello to yours truly!
What about you? Have you ever run a marathon? Tried oil pulling? Been to Expo West? Post in the comments and let me know!
Hi from the SCLB! Wow, not sure about that coconut oil thing. Interesting to see the benefits.
Hi Holly! Yes it is super interesting. I will let you know how it goes once I do it more.
Oil pulling is a trend thing that seems to pop up every five years. Blech.
