Awesome Fridays – 7/5/13
Happy Awesome Friday, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July. I found this picture online yesterday and it made me happy:
Since it’s a holiday weekend and most of you are probably out and about enjoying everything summer has to offer, I will make this post short and sweet. I hope you had a wonderful time seeing fireworks and spending quality time with family and friends. My husband and I are planning to celebrate America by going to the USA vs Guatemala soccer game tonight. Woo hoo!
If you haven’t seen my coconut popsicles recipe yet, check it out. All I used to make them with was coconut milk, water, and vanilla extract (or you can use vanilla bean). So good!
There was a great article this week on Mind Body Green about hidden food sensitivities. Check it out if you have the time. It really reminds me of my situation prior to going gluten-free, and I think it provides some really useful information, although I would recommend staying away from potential culprit foods for a much longer period of time. Here it is: 5 Signs a Hidden Food Sensitivity is Sabotaging your Health
My friend Sarah over at Low Carb Kitty posted some delicious low carb comfort food using zucchini noodles. It looked bomb. I got some zucchini in my CSA box this week and might need to buy me a noodle slicer and check this recipe out.
I am also working on building my first Fit & Awesome Email Newsletter. I don’t plan on sending them out more than 2-3 times a month but I am excited to get it going. If you are interested in signing up, you can click the subscribe button on the right hand side of the page or by clicking this link: http://eepurl.com/BVUZf
Alright, that’s all I got for you folks this week. Have a great rest of your holiday weekend. Be Fit. Be Awesome.
What about you? Did you have a nice 4th of July? Have you ever tried coconut popsicles or zucchini noodles? Post in the comments and let me know!
I still haven’t tried zuc noodles but once they are in season from my dad’s garden, I’m definitely going to give them a try!
