Awesome Fridays – Fitness Tweet Up, Denver, and More
Happy Awesome Friday, everyone! I hope you all had a great week. I still can’t believe this weekend is Halloween weekend. I have thought about a costume for Kona (she’s going to be a banana in case you were wondering) but I haven’t even thought about what my husband and I are going to be. Guess it is going to be a last minute game time decision. Or maybe I should be a banana, too.
To put it simply, this week has been beyond awesome. Why? Because I’ve been to several different events and conferences and met some amazingly smart and talented people who are incredibly inspiring. On Tuesday I attended FitBlogLA, a fitness meet and tweet hosted by Fitness Magazine. It was held at the Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica. Who wouldn’t want to hang out at a beach house on a Tuesday? The day was packed with panels on nutrition, fitness, and blogging. We had an extended time for lunch in order to give us enough time to visit all the sponsor booths. And by sponsor booths, I really should say gifting suites because that’s what I felt they were. I was blown away by the generosity of the sponsors. I walked away with new running shoes from Saucony, a workout outfit from Roxy Outdoor Fitness, a pair of Birkenstocks, Oakley polarized sunglasses and more. Seriously. I feel so spoiled and like Christmas came early this year. And to top it off, my friend Heather (who has a blog called Unusual Trekker) brought me back these fun goodies from Ironman Kona. As you probably know by now, our puppy’s name is Kona so this gear is meaningful to me on multiple levels. Thank you, Heather! You rock!
I am working on a full recap post from the Fitness event because there’s so much good stuff to write about. Many thanks to Fitness Magazine for hosting such a wonderful day! I had such a great time and couldn’t imagine any way the event could have been better.
After the Fitness event on Tuesday I went to an event with the lovely folks from Social Media Club LA. This event was all about niche communities. I was especially excited to see the Co-Founder of Untappd (a beer app) on the panel because my friend Ashley loves their product. Good stuff. I also got to see AJ from Confessions of a Fat Girl and Chris from What I Run Into. But Chris has been running into A LOT of me this week. She was at the fitness event and we also have met up here in Denver (which is where I am as I’m typing this post).
And now that leads me to the rest of this awesome week. I have been in Denver, CO for a Conference called Think Tank 2013. It’s hosted by ShareASale.com and brings together affiliates and merchants to discuss ideas and learn from each other. I have been so inspired by the marketers I have met here. They know their ****. It has been so great to sit around and discuss ideas with like minded people. I am planning to post more about this conference on my consulting website so you can check it out there in the next couple of days. I have learned a lot of great things that can be applied both to my business and to Fit & Awesome. If you’d like to know more about this conference, feel free to shoot me an email!
Alright, that’s all I’ve got for now. My routine has been off this week and my diet and exercise routine has suffered. I need to get right back on it when I get home.
What about you? Have you ever been to a fitness blogger event? How do you keep a diet and exercise routine while traveling? Post in the comments and let me know!
Very cool that you got to go to the Fitness event!
You would have loved it! I imagine it’s what FitBloggin was like!
Aw, I got a mention! Always good to see you!
