Move Nourish Believe Challenge – Week One Recap

By Lindsay 1 Comment

#MNBChallenge with Lorna Jane and Fit Approach

So I’m in challenge mode right now and participating in the Lorna Jane & Fit Approach #MNBChallenge. It’s three weeks long and the first week’s focus is on MOVE – Moving Your Body and getting some exercise. I’ve been posting my progress on Instagram at @LTsurf but here is my week one recap:

Day 1: Sweat It Out:

The challenge was to post a picture of you doing your favorite way to sweat. One of my favorite ways to sweat is playing soccer, and we had a game on Monday night.

Day 2: Change It Up w/ A Different Way to Sweat

The goal for Day 2 was to try a new way to sweat. I haven’t taken a spinning class in years and I’ve been meaning to try one out with my friend, Stacey. We went together and had a blast. Stacey is 6 months pregnant and works out like a champ. I was so impressed. The teacher, PK, played a Bruno Mars remix for the entire class and it was a lot of fun. My butt was super sore from the seat the next day. Guess I’m not used to riding a bike these days!

Day 3: Plank It Up: Do At Least 5 Minutes of Planks

Oh, planks. I love you but I hate you at the same time. I made plans to do lunch with my friend Hannah from Simply Hannah. When she asked if I would like to do a power hike for 45 minutes instead of lunch, my response was “Heck Yes!” We met at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and powered up the 222 stairs. It was windy at the top, but we stopped and did several minutes of planks. Good times! You can read more about our hike on Hannah’s blog by clicking here.

Day 4: Buddy Up!

Today’s task was to work out with a buddy. Well, there are no other better workout buddies than my husband Marion and our puppy, Kona! It rained quite a bit on Thursday and I got to test out my new rain coat which I was super excited about. One thing I love about having a dog is they get you outdoors and active even when it’s yucky outside. Kona dragged us out for a nice long walk in the rain.

Day 5: Fitness Faves

This was a fun one! I got to post my 5 Fitness Faves. I did it based on what I’m using the most right now which are my surfboard (I’ve been trying to surf as much as I can these days), the ocean (we live at the beach. a natural fitness wonderland), my Bia Sport GPS watch Field test unit (love this!), my polarized swimming goggles (<–Affiliate link), and a Toxin Flush green juice from Nekter Juice Bar. These are all in heavy rotation in my life right now!

This upcoming week will be focused around NOURISH and eating right. Shouldn’t be too hard for me since I’m on a pretty strict eating routine right now with the whole30. The only one that might be tough is Meatless Monday. We’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck! And follow my journey on Instagram at @LTsurf.

What about you? What do you do to sweat it out? What are your current 5 Fitness Faves? Post in the comments and let me know!

I love your plank picture! What a view. And your buddy’s too, of course.
