Fit & Awesome Fridays: TGIF!
I’ve decided to start a weekly series of posts here on Fit & Awesome. Naturally, I’ve decided to call it Awesome Fridays! It will be a roundup of things I’ve found interesting over the past week. There will definitely be health and fitness related things, but it will also just be things that I generally think are awesome. And if you’ve been reading my posts, you probably know I’m a bit of a tech nerd so we will throw in a bit of that, too. So here we go…Awesome Fridays, Round One!
Monthly subscription clubs are all the rage these days and I love anything that saves me money, saves me time, or introduces me to new things I wouldn’t try on my own. Tonx is a new service that scours the globe to source the best tasting coffee beans. They then send them to your doorstep every month. You can choose between two sizes, the 6 oz bag or the 12 oz bag. Or you can start with a free trial and try before you buy. I opted for the sample option and I’m very excited about it. I love my morning coffee and this is an exciting prospect for me. Have you ever brushed your skin? It might sound really weird, but it is actually really good for you. It is a great detox tool because brushing your skin helps clear toxins from your lymphatic system and helps stimulate your system. I have been brushing my skin lately before I take a shower and it has been really energizing. I bought my skin brush a couple years ago and have used it off an on ever since. This past Sunday, we set our clocks forward which means it gets dark later and we get more sunshine! I am very excited about this because now it is no longer dark out when I leave work. This is great because it means I can soon exercise outside after work when the weather warms up. It’s been fickle lately with sun one day and fog the next. I hope the heat comes soon. I miss it!
Last week I was stretching at home and decided to try a headstand. I was against the wall but I was shocked at how easily I got into a pose that used to be so difficult for me. Ever since I’ve been trying to get upside down for a little bit each day. Nothing like a rush of blood to the head…backwards.
