I’ve been athletic my whole life. I played soccer growing up, surfed, and practiced taekwondo. In college I continued to workout and began running. After college I began registering in local running races. In 2010 I competed in my first triathlon. And in 2012, I ran the LA Marathon – my first marathon ever!
Even though I worked out 5-6x a week, I didn’t look like it. My weight issues plagued me. After several people told me they believe my excess weight was due to a food allergy, I went and saw a doctor. I had a blood test and discovered I was gluten intolerant.
Now I eat a strict gluten free diet and have adopted many of the principles of the paleo lifestyle along the way. I’ve lost almost 20 pounds and feel great. This website is a way for me to share what I’ve learned (and what I will continue to learn) in my health and fitness journey. I’ve researched, reviewed, and recommended countless products to others. I write about everything related to fitness as well as random things I think are awesome (hence the name Fit & Awesome). Everything I review on the site I personally endorse or own myself. If I don’t believe in the product, you won’t see it being reviewed here. Plain and simple.
My journey has been rewarding and fulfilling. Now I am fit, awesome, and loving it. I hope you enjoy this site, and I welcome all feedback.
